1. Pearl 1: The last man standing whom witnessed the 19th century passed away this week. Jiroemon Kimura outlived 20 US Presidents, since his birth in 1897. He was also the oldest man in recorded history (I really don’t think Old testament wanderers lived as long as the Good Book suggest – but that’s just me…)His secret for longevity? Eat small portions of food. Think about it – eat less live longer.
Pearl 2: I had the great fortune to listen to a 92-years young Deborah Szekely today. Her thoughts about living long and well included these cultured pearls:
a. Passionately trust your body. It’s the only one you’ll have. Only your brain is older than 10 years. All other body parts refresh.
b. Move! Movement is Medicine. Oxygen to our brains is critical.
c. Lighten your load (see Pearl #1 for weight and eating habits)
d. Enjoy Meatless Mondays
e. Be a Localvore
f. Avoid as many chemicals and over-counter pharmaceuticals as you can (we’re exposed to enough chemicals already)
g. Feed your Brain
h. Cultivate Friends that are Key to life.
Pearl #3: Cornell McClellan whom can get our First couple to do as he suggests 🙂
a. Aerobic fitness can add twelve (12!) years to your life
b. The more you do – the MORE you CAN DO!
c. We choose how we AGE.
Let’s choose well, Move and develop friendships on our treks of life.
